What is an MRes?
A Master of Research (MRes) is different from usual postgraduate Masters degrees because it focuses more heavily on a larger independent research project (under the oversight of an academic supervisor). This MRes course is structured in a module format, with two taught research training modules (Methods and Measurement in the Social Sciences; & Data Analysis, Replication and Dissemination) as well as the MRes Independent Project module, and the course involves completing structured assessments for each of these modules, so this is considered a postgraduate taught course, even with the heavier research focus.
