Develop the expertise for a successful clinical academic career, research management role, or further research training on our flexible MRes Clinical and Health Research master's programme.

This programme covers the entire research process, and you'll have the opportunity to develop a research project within an area such as:

  • health services research
  • public health
  • management of diseases and conditions
  • epidemiological studies
  • clinical trials
  • experimental medicine
  • translational research

    Scholarships

    Global Excellence Scholarship

    83 Global Excellence Scholarships of £3,000 off tuition fees are available to new international postgraduate students applying for an in person postgraduate master’s programme. 

    Eligibility?

    To get this scholarship you must:

    • be an international student who would be eligible to pay the  overseas tuition fee  
    • have a conditional or unconditional offer to study any in person, full-time, postgraduate master’s programme.  
    • this scholarship is available to international students except for those coming from China, Vietnam, Nigeria, India and Thailand for which a country specific Excellence Scholarship applies.
    • pay your tuition fee deposit by 15 January 2026 

    As there are a limited number of these scholarships they will be awarded an a first come first served basis, i.e. the first 83 applicants who meet the above listed conditions, including paying their tuition fee deposit by 15 January, will be awarded the scholarship.

    For master’s applicants coming from  and  there are country specific Excellence Scholarships, these scholarships also have a deposit deadline but it is later in the year, 30th June 2026.


    Southampton Business School (MSc) Dean Scholarship (International)

    • Scholarships of £9,000 and £5,000 are available to international students studying an eligible postgraduate master’s at the University of Southampton Business School.
    • If you have a 1st or an equivalent qualification in your undergraduate studies you will get £9,000.
    • If you have a 2:1 or an equivalent qualification in your undergraduate studies you will get £5,000.

    Eligibility

    To get this scholarship you must:

    • be an international student required to pay the oversees fees
    • have a conditional or unconditional offer to study an eligible course
    • achieve a 1st or an equivalent qualification in your undergraduate studies to receive a £9,000 award?
    • achieve a 2:1 or an equivalent qualification in your undergraduate studies to receive a £5,000 award

    This does not include where you are living for study purposes, if it is somewhere different from your place of permanent residency.
