The job description of engineers ranges from research, design and production; development of new technologies; planning; construction; and commissioning as well as optimization of systems and machines to servicing countless modern systems and processes.

Mechanical engineering combines basic research with development and design, production, maintenance, operation and (dis)assembly of technical systems and products. This specialization makes use of technical and physical principles.
