Accelerated Pre-Masters Programme Computing, Engineering and Health Sciences (ICAS) (1 Term)

A postgraduate degree in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) can be a great way to boost your career prospects whilst letting you spend more time studying what you’re passionate about – and by studying your Masters in the UK, you’ll also be developing your English language skills on top of this. This can improve your job prospects even more, by making you an internationally employable graduate.

Our Accelerated Pre-Masters Programme in Computing, Engineering and Health Sciences is a one-term programme of study designed to help you gain the subject knowledge and English language skills necessary to thrive at a UK university – particularly the subject-specific vocabulary you will need to get the most out of your degree.

You will study core modules – which are specific to your chosen subject route and progression degree.
Please note that you are expected to attend 100% of your classes at the International Study Centre or you are at risk of losing your Student visa.

Combined visa for Accelerated Pre-Master's Programme

Save time and progress smoothly to the University with a combined visa. The visa covers the duration of your studies at both the International Study Centre and Teesside University.

  • No need to return home to apply for a new visa between your Accelerated Pre-Master's Programme and chosen postgraduate degree.
  • Alternatives to Academic IELTS for UKVI can be used to join the Accelerated Pre-Master's Programme.
  • No need for an additional IELTS test before joining your postgraduate degree.
  • Allows you to work up to 20 hours per week, enhancing CV and career prospects.
  • Gives you the opportunity to travel and explore the UK between courses.

Progress to your degree

Once you complete your Accelerated Pre-Masters Programme pathway and achieve the required grades, you will be able to join your chosen Masters degree at Teesside University. By completing this pathway, you will be able to progress to the following degrees.

Leading to: Oil and Gas Management MSC

This course is ideal if you are intending to pursue a management career in the oil and gas industry, or if you are already working in the sector and would like to develop management skills and knowledge at master’s level. Graduates from a range of technical, non-technical and commercial backgrounds are eligible to apply.

The 60-credit dissertation module allows you to conduct a supervised research project developing original knowledge in a specific area of oil and gas management. Teesside is a major European centre for the chemical and petroleum processing sector, making it an ideal location to study this field. The oil and gas industry is well represented with a range of internationally recognised companies operating in the region.

You learn a wide range of key oil and gas management techniques and theories. The programme structure is composed of 20-credit taught modules delivered over two semesters for full time studies and completion duration varies for advanced practice and part time options. Following successful completion of these modules, you proceed to a 60-credit research project.
