  • Feel that additional support at the start of university studies will help them stand a better chance of success
  • Have been away from studies for a period of time
  • Come from a different academic environment to that of the UK
  • Require additional English language training

If you fall into any of the above categories, choosing an undergraduate pathway at Plymouth University International College (PUIC) is the right decision. Depending on your academic needs here at Plymouth University International College (PUIC).

Progressing from Foundation

Stage 1 will be the first stage in the 4 stage process. Meaning that on successful completion of stage 1 you will seamlessly progress to stage 2, which is the first year of a bachelor’s degree. There is no need to reapply, you will simply just progress between each stage until you reach the final stage and graduate with a degree from Plymouth University International College (PUIC).

BSc (Hons) Psychology with Human Biology

Fascinated by the way new technologies impact on human welfare, health and disease? Combining psychology with human biology, you will learn about the science underpinning these technologies and develop an understanding of their ethical implications. With a focus on the latest research developments, you will develop your knowledge of topics as broad ranging as biochemistry and behaviour, physiology and physiological psychology.

You will benefit from studying on a course that Research Assessment Exercise rates as excellent for research and Quality Assurance Agency praises for being well structured, with a focus on active and independent learning, with quality placements and a responsive and reflective academic team. As a successful graduate, you’ll be eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership with the British Psychological Society, putting you on the ladder to becoming a professional psychologist.

Specialist Facilities:

We have 22 specialist laboratories which can be booked by students and staff. Labs range from single participant rooms through to labs with a range of networked or standalone computers and social interaction or group participation rooms.

Placement Year:

All of our psychology students can opt to take a voluntary placement year, so you do not have to apply for a particular course. You will gain invaluable experience and cultivate professional contacts. The process starts in your second year, with information sessions to help you decide if a placement year is right for you.
