Program Overview
On this Sport and Exercise Nutrition degree, you'll learn about the nutritional requirements for exercise, improved performance and health, and explore the social and psychological aspects that influence diet and physical activity. Taking a multidisciplinary, scientific approach, you'll learn how to develop and deliver evidence-based dietary guidance, for general fitness and health through to elite-level competition.
BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Nutrition incorporates scientific theory alongside opportunities for you to develop your practical and research skills. The course has been developed in consultation with industry experts and employers, and is designed to prepare you for careers in areas such as health and wellbeing, food and education.
This course provides an approach to sport and exercise nutrition that is based on the scientific and academic principles of physiology and biochemistry. It explores the social and psychological aspects that influence physical activity, food choices, nutrition and health.
By studying sport and exercise nutrition, you’ll understand how physical inactivity is a risk factor for a number of diseases, as well as the scientific principles underlying the nutritional requirements for physical activity, improved performance and health.

Scholarships

If you are a high-achieving student from outside the UK and are entering undergraduate or postgraduate studies with us, you may benefit from the International Recruitment Office Scholarship.
The following scholarships are available:
- £5,000 off tuition fees for the first year of study (two scholarships available)
- £1,000 off tuition fees for the first year of study (20 scholarships available)
Criteria
This scholarship is for candidates who are joining Bath Spa University in September, entering either:
- A three-year undergraduate programme
- A one-year postgraduate programme

How applications are judged

India Scholarship
Apply for up to £2,000 towards the cost of your first year fees in the 2026/27 academic year.
Bath Spa University works with a number of regional offices to support its work across the world, and number of scholarships are available to support applicants from India.
The following scholarships are available:
- £2,000 off tuition fees for the first year of study (10 scholarships available)
- £1,000 off tuition fees for the first year of study (20 scholarships available for the first 20 students who apply)
Criteria
The India Regional Office Scholarship is available to both undergraduate and postgraduate applicants.
- Postgraduate students must achieve at least 70% in their degree.
- Undergraduate students must achieve at least 70% overall in their 12th grade, for example, A-Levels.
Applicants must first apply for their programme of study direct to Bath Spa University through our official University representative in India, and be processed through Bath Spa University India.
Applicants can be from outside India, but must be processed through the regional office in India.
