    AUT International Scholarships for Semester 2, 2026—Regional & Faculty Awards

     

    International scholarships for specific regions—South Asia
    Auckland University of Technology (AUT) provides scholarships to recognise and support high-achieving international students as they begin their journey in becoming great graduates of AUT

    VALUE AND TYPE OF AWARD
    AUT International Scholarships are provided for the following levels of study:
    Undergraduate Scholarships
    • Contribution of $5,000 towards tuition fees.
    • Excellence Category – contribution of $10,000 towards tuition fees.
    High-achieving undergraduate applicants with at least an equivalent AUT GPA of B+ or higher will be considered by the selection panel in the Excellence Category.
    Postgraduate Scholarships
    • Contribution of $7,000 towards tuition fees.
    • Refer to the appendix for eligible postgraduate programs.
    • Doctoral programs are excluded.
    Tenure The scholarship is awarded for one year only.
    Eligibility Criteria
    • Applicants must be new, full-fee-paying international students. See additional notes.
    • Applicants must be citizens of one of the following countries: South Asia: Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan,
    • Maldives.
    • Applicants must have a current and valid conditional or unconditional offer to study an eligible AUT program commencing in Semester 2 2026. See appendix for eligible programs.
    • Applicants cannot be previous AUT students. This includes those who are applying for a higher-level program (e.g., an AUT bachelor’s degree graduate applying for a master’s program).
    • Students who have already commenced studies at AUT are not eligible to apply.
    Application Requirements Applicants are required to upload:
    • A current and valid conditional or unconditional offer to study an eligible AUT program commencing in Semester 2, 2026.
    • Detailed academic transcript for the most recent qualification, complete with grading scale.
    • Completion certificate (e.g., bachelor’s degree certificate).
    • Their AUT student ID in the box provided on the application form

    All documentation must be uploaded by the closing date; otherwise, the application will be considered ineligible.
    Applicants are required to declare if they have applied for other scholarships both internally (i.e. awarded by AUT) and externally (e.g. government scholarships). The selection committee will take this into consideration.

    Selection Process
    • A selection committee comprising of representatives from AUT International Office and/or Faculty will assessthe applications.
    • Applications will be shortlisted and awarded by AUT on the recommendation of the selection committee.
    • The country of origin of the applicant may be considered by the selection committee to align with AUT’s strategic aims.
    • Student’s academic achievement will be taken into consideration.
    • Selection will take place on a fortnightly basis until places are filled.
    Conditions of Acceptance and Appointment
    • The award of this scholarship is conditional on the student enrolling in an eligible AUT programme commencing in Semester 2 2026.
    • Recipients are required to be enrolled full time (120 points) at AUT during the tenure of the scholarship. Failure to do so may result in termination of the scholarship and any paid funds recovered.
    • The contribution to tuition fees will be paid as a credit to the recipient’s AUT fees account upon the recipient:
      • Receiving an unconditional Offer of Place for an eligible AUT programme commencing in Semester 2, 2026; and
      • Accepting the scholarship.
    • The scholarship may be terminated if recipients are found to have not truthfully declared their details during the application process. In this case, any paid funds will be recovered.
    • Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic standing and conduct during the tenure of the scholarship. Failure to do so may result in termination of the scholarship and any paid funds recovered.
    • Except in cases where there are compelling medical reasons or adverse personal circumstance beyond a student’s control, the uptake of the scholarship cannot be deferred.
    • The offer of scholarship lapses if it is not formally accepted within two weeks from the date of offer.
    • By accepting the award, scholarship recipients agree to appropriate publicity requestsfrom AUT to represent the university and the scholarship.
    • The scholarship cannot be held concurrently with other AUT International Scholarships.
    • This scholarship cannot be held by students whose studies are being fully or partially sponsored by either a home government or the New Zealand government.
    • Recipients have 14 days to accept their scholarship offer of place.
    • Recipients with a valid conditional offer to study an eligible AUT programme must make a reasonable effort to meet the English language condition (if any) of their conditional offer within one month of accepting the scholarship offer.
