Program Overview

What is gender and how has its definition changed over time and place? How has gender been represented through literature and other media? And how exactly do we bring about change in gender relations in the world?

These are a few questions the Gender Studies program on UNB’s Saint John campus will address, by focusing heavily on concepts such as feminism, masculinity, queer studies, and transgender studies.

Why Gender Studies at UNB?
Unlike many programs, which focus on one discipline’s perspective, our program is multidisciplinary. This means you’ll explore complex gender issues from multiple fields of study and perspectives.
