TRU’s Master of Science in Environmental Economics and Management (MScEEM) prepares graduates to make major contributions to the field of economic sustainable management.


Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the MScEEM, students are able to:

  • Apply positive and normative economics to environmental, natural resource and social problems.
  • Formulate alternative solutions to problems with the consideration of complexity and uncertainty.
  • Work collaboratively on fundamental challenges of sustainability.
  • Effectively communicate sustainability issues and solutions in both oral and written forms to a variety of audiences. Incorporate ethics and social responsibility in decision-making.
  • Conduct in-depth research on an environmental economics, management, or sustainability issue using rigorous methodology.

Academic Requirement

Minimum Level of Education Required: To be accepted into this program, applicants must have a four-year undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in business, economics, or a related field. Applicants with undergraduate degrees in different disciplines may be required, depending on their academic and professional background, to complete BUSN 5040 Economics for Managers (or equivalent) with a grade of B or better prior to the start of the program as a condition of acceptance. Applicants should have a minimum B+ average (GPA of 3.25 on a scale of 4.33 or local equivalent) in their last 60 academic credits of study.

Scholarships

Scholarship Type Overview

Diversity Scholarships

TRU offers global diversity scholarships to new international students that demonstrate excellent academics and are from countries that are underrepresented on campus (5 or less on campus). To be considered, students should meet one of the following: 3.0 GPA or 6.5 IELTS or 88 TOEFL iBT. There is no application process, scholarship will be automatically applied at time of student application if above qualifications are met.

Academic Excellence Award

To be considered, new students must have a minimum GPA of 86% (A) during last year of high school/college/university. Award candidates will be identified by the international marketing team based on program application submission and contacted directly if deemed eligible. If identified, candidates are eligible for up to $2,000. Qualified students will receive first $1,000 then must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA at the completion of their first semester at TRU to be eligible to receive $1,000 for a second semester. This award is for new students only.

Exceptional Student Award

To be considered, new students must have a minimum GPA of 80% (A-) during the last year of high school/college/university and gain direct entry to academic studies (IELTS 6.5+). Award candidates will be identified by the international marketing team based on program application submission and contacted directly if deemed eligible. If identified, candidates are eligible for up to $4,000. Qualified students will receive first $1,000 then must maintain a minimum 3.33 GPA at the completion of each subsequent semester at TRU to be eligible to receive $1,000 for each additional semester up to 3 semesters. This award is for new students only.
