Immerse yourself in a blend of theory and hands-on training—accredited by Transport Canada and delivered at our Vernon and Kelowna Aerospace Campuses. Build the skills needed to inspect, repair, and modify aircraft—from engines and propellers to cutting-edge systems—and unlock diverse career paths with airlines, helicopter operators, and maintenance organizations across the country.

The program consists of consists of 74 weeks (2035 Hours) of full-time studies. Approximately 45 percent of the day is spent on theory discussions in a classroom setting, followed by hands-on-practical training at the the OC Aerospace Campus. The program follows a national set of standards and is accredited by Transport Canada. Upon successful completion, the graduate will receive an Okanagan College Diploma. Transport Canada will grant graduates 18 months Basic Training credit to the required 48 months total credit that is required to obtain an Aircraft Maintenance "M" license.

Academic Requirement

Minimum Level of Education Required: To be accepted into this program, applicants must have a Grade 12 / High School diploma or equivalent, including the following required course(s):

  • English 11 with a minimum 50% or , or a  reading comprehension score of at least 83%.
  • Math Requirement: A minimum of 50% in any of:
    • Adult Basic Education IALG 011 or:
    • Adult Basic Education Math 084 and Math 085
    • Adult Basic Education Math 080
    • Adult Basic Education Math 011
    • Essentials of Mathematics 11
    • Applications of Mathematics Grade 11
    • Principles of Mathematics Grade 11
    • Workplace Mathematics 11
    • Apprenticeship and Workplace Mathematics Grade 11
    • Foundations of Mathematics Grade 11
    • Pre-calculus Grade 11
  • A minimum of 63% on the TEA mathematics test. Test scores are good for two years.
  • Good colour vision and an interest in mechanics are recommended
