The Lambton College Canadian Culinary Operations, Ontario College Graduate Certificate is a two-year program that introduces students to the traditional as well as the unique practices of Canadian-inspired culinary dishes. Students experience all facets of the Canadian food industry where trends and dining culture are constantly evolving.

Program curriculum reflects the demanding knowledge and skills required of a successful culinary professional who must constantly adapt to all Canadian industry standards regardless of the enterprise. Faculty are committed to sharing with students the importance of sustainable practices as it applies to purchasing and preparing local foods in various Canadian environments. Specific courses on applied nutrition, geographical gastronomy and the science of food and beverage reflect changing consumer tastes.

The program emphasizes the importance of operating a fiscally responsible food business through the application of business principles and costing and control practices. Technology and mobile applications are integrated into business operations with emphasis on the development of marketing and promotional strategies. Students work in accordance with relevant industry, organization and legal standards and regulations, as well as Canadian industry best practices for health, safety, sanitation, quality assurance and customer service.

The professional focus and high standards of the Canadian Culinary Operations program serves graduates well when it comes time to begin their careers. Program graduates may perform effectively as members of food and beverage service teams in Canadian establishments. Co-op students have the opportunity to apply classroom learning to the workplace. Co-op placement opportunities help students gain valuable work experience that may assist them in finding permanent employment after they graduate. Securing a Co-op Placement
The job market for co-op is very competitive and students are expected to be active participants in their job searches, this includes demonstrated activity on the myCareer System.
Lambton College cannot guarantee co-op positions for students. Success in finding a co-op involves a number of factors that are not controlled by Lambton College.
Limited assistance is provided to students in finding co-op placements. Students will also be expected to canvass employers to find their own placements. Completing a co-op work term is mandatory for graduation.
Any student who secures his or her own co-op position must verify with the Co-op & Career Advisor assigned to the program that the proposed co-op is appropriate and will be approved before accepting the position.

Spring 2026 Intake

High-achieving international students may be eligible to receive entrance scholarships of up to CAD 4,000 for select programs offered at the Sarnia and Ottawa campuses.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for an entrance scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be an international student
  • Receive a confirmed offer of admission for an eligible program and intake
  • Meet the academic requirements specified for the program
  • Register as a full-time student
  • Pay the required tuition deposit within the stipulated deadline
  • Maintain compliance with institutional admission and enrollment policies


FAQ

How will I know if I received the scholarship?

  • Meeting the eligibility criteria of the international entrance scholarship does not automatically constitute approval. If selected, your Lambton College acceptance letter will indicate YES in box 23.
  • If you were not selected for an international entrance scholarship, your Lambton College acceptance letter will indicate NO in box 23. In this case, you have not been selected and are not eligible to receive an international entrance scholarship.

How and when will the entrance scholarship be applied? 

  • Upon registration at Lambton College, scholarship funds will be applied to the first-year tuition cost, as outlined on your acceptance letter. The total value of each scholarship shall not exceed $4,000 for eligible Sarnia programs and $3,600 for eligible Ottawa programs.
  • Scholarships are granted at the sole discretion of Lambton College's international admissions office. Scholarship funds cannot be used for any other purpose, are non-cashable and non-refundable.
  • Scholarship funds are conditional on continuing and maintaining full-time registration status in the first and second term. Students who transfer to another institution or withdraw during their first or second terms will lose the entire amount of the entrance scholarship during the refund process.
