Program Overview

The Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) program is a full-time 12-month program and is delivered in a blended format that alternates between in-person classroom sessions and live online (synchronous) sessions where you connect with instructors and students in real time. This means one week you’ll attend classes on campus, and the following week you’ll participate in face-to-face live online learning.

Who should take this program?
The Primary Care Paramedic program is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping others, thrive in fast-paced and dynamic environments, and are ready to take on the challenges of frontline emergency medical care. It’s well-suited for those who are disciplined, self-motivated, and committed to both collaborative and independent learning. Whether you're starting a new career or looking to transition into the healthcare field, this program is designed for those who are eager to develop hands-on clinical skills, think critically under pressure, and make a meaningful impact in their communities.

What will you learn?

The Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) program provides the education and training required to practice as a frontline paramedic. You’ll develop the knowledge, clinical judgment, and hands-on skills needed to assess and manage patients in a pre-hospital care environment. The curriculum emphasizes real-world application, combining classroom learning, online study, skills labs, high-fidelity simulations, and supervised clinical and field experiences.

You’ll build a strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and pharmacology—critical areas that support effective decision-making and treatment for critically ill or injured patients. In addition to mastering technical skills such as airway management, medication administration, and trauma care, you’ll also strengthen your communication, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities—key competencies for providing safe, compassionate, and timely care in the field.
