Work outdoors and make a difference by gaining the skills to monitor the environment. You’ll train to monitor important aspects of the environment – air, water, soil, ecology – with a focus on ecosystems impacted by the mining industry. Learn from professors active in the field while getting the hands-on monitoring skills and the expertise in reporting you need to address environmental issues and support environmental site and impact assessments.


Our graduates can be found working at top environmental and engineering consulting firms such as Golder and Associates, Wood/AMEC, and Blumetric, as well as government ministries and non-governmental organizations. 
 

Program Highlights

  • Unique focus on environmental monitoring (air, water, soil, ecology) with an emphasis on ecosystems impacted by the mining industry

  • Opportunities to earn certifications related to the environmental field

Academic Requirement

Minimum Level of Education Required: To be accepted into this program, applicants must have one of the following:

  • Applicants must be graduates of an Ontario College Diploma, Ontario College Advanced Diploma, Degree or equivalent in an environmental, mining, engineering, or science-related field or equivalent.

    OR
     
  • Applicant must possess five years of work experience in a related field (or a combination of education and work experience) as judged by the college to be equivalent. Applicants must submit a resume detailing their related experience and a cover letter outlining their competencies and preparedness for the program (any and all post-secondary transcripts must still be submitted).

Entrance Scholarship—Fall 2026

Overview To support their academic journey, Cambrian College is offering Entrance Scholarships to all new international students applying from inside or outside Canada for Fall 2026 programs.
Scholarship Amounts
  • $1,500 CAD for students applying from outside Canada
  • $1,000 CAD for students applying from within Canada
Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible, students must:

  • Be a new international student starting their first academic program at Cambrian College
  • Apply for the September 2026 intake
  • Submit their application through OCAS IAS by May 31, 2026 (NEW!)
  • Pay their first-semester tuition by June 30, 2026 (NEW!)
  • Obtain a study permit and remain registered past Day 10 of classes


English for Academic Purposes (EAPP) Students

Overview

EAPP applicants must also hold a conditional offer for a future academic program at Cambrian College to qualify. Scholarship amounts for EAPP students are based on their location at the time of application.
