Diploma of Information Technology

In the Diploma of Information Technology Standard Session you will address these fundamental questions and gain the skills to be better prepared to succeed at your UOW bachelor. You’ll explore various disciplines, including programming, systems analysis, networks and web technologies and graduate with a Higher Education Diploma to help get you into the workforce while completing your bachelor's degree.


Progression to: Bachelor of Technology

The Bachelor of Technology degree is for the future technologists who will build and secure the networks of the future (cyber network security) and bring about the 4th Industrial Revolution (industry 4.0) and inform and drive business solutions (principles of data science).

During your first year you will study programming, mathematics, electronics and programing. You will then move on to specialise in either industry 4.0, cyber network security, or principles of data science.

 

Specialisation: Industry 4.0

Innovative technology is essential to secure our future national prosperity. The world is experiencing its fourth industrial revolution as technology becomes embedded in all manufacturing processes including, transport, logistics, buildings, products and energy.

Industries must be flexible in adapting to technology changes, and leveraging off new opportunities. Industry 4.0 is focused on the development of intelligent networking of machines and processes for a competitive manufacturing sector and the development of infrastructure for economic growth.

A specialisation in Industry 4.0 will provide you with the technology and other skills to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and drive global competitiveness. You will study subjects such as autonomous systems, IoT, big data mining techniques and implementation and cyber security or AI.
