Major: Economics

A Major in economics at Notre Dame will give you the skills to solve a range of problems through economic reasoning. Covering both theoretical and applied skills of modern economics and econometrics, this program is ideal training for a wide range of roles across many industry sectors. Graduates work on such complex issues as poverty, financial crises, industrial downturns, environmental damage, and political turmoil.

By equipping our students with the practical skills to tackle real-world problems, a Major in Economics prepares you for employment in both the public and private sectors.

This three-year program can be taken full-time or the equivalent part-time and combines a series of workshop sessions, lectures by visiting speakers and a most extensive business internship program. You will also receive help with career planning and professional development.


Major: Human Resource Management

The University of Notre Dame Australia will equip you with the practical and theoretical skills you will need to identify and solve workforce problems and issues to thrive in the ever-changing business environment. All Commerce students complete 150 hours of hands-on experience in a workplace environment.

Accredited by the Australian Human Resources Institute, our Human Resource Management degree offers individually focused tuition and team-based learning. You will acquire vital knowledge of employment relations, employment law, human resource development, change management and other subjects. Furthermore, experienced lecturers and regular industry guest speakers provide insight into the inner workings of corporations.

The Undergraduate course can be taken full-time over three years or the part-time equivalent. You will begin the program by completing eight foundation Courses. These cover topics such as Accounting, Business Law, Marketing and Business Communication – the building blocks of all Bachelor of Commerce programs.

You will then study more HR-focused courses like Change Management, Organisational Behaviour, Employment Law, and Strategic Workforce Issues. Depending on your choice of electives, you can complete a double Major within the School of Business or combine it with a program in the Schools of Arts & Sciences, Law, or Education.
