General Foundation Studies Program
The General Foundation Studies Program is a university entry program designed for international students who have completed a minimum of year 11 or its equivalent.

Articulation to Western Sydney University

Students must:

• Pass all the units including core and pathway specific
• Achieve a minimum GPA as required for entry to your intended Bachelor course program^
• Achieve a minimum grade requirement for specific unit/s as required for entry to your intended Bachelor course^

Meeting these criteria will qualify students for entry into the first year of Bachelor of Arts.

Travel overseas and get credit towards your degree with a study abroad program. Find a meaningful community service project. Our new delivery mode combines traditional classroom learning with 24-hour access to program materials online. This gives you greater flexibility and more time to discuss ideas and collaborate in class. Depending on your major, there are opportunities for practical experience and international placements. We’ve also got state-of-the-art facilities like our own recording studio, multimedia labs and digital suites. Effective communication and critical thinking skills are valued in all industries. That’s why there are so many career pathways in this program. Major: Sociology

The major in Sociology provides students with a thorough training in the methods, theories and select leading areas of contemporary sociology.

As well as units in which methods and theories are taught, through the social science core, students enrolled in the Sociology major will have opportunities to study a number of particular themes from a sociological perspective, including inequalities, deviance, identities, gender, religion, medicine and health care, ethnicity and migration, and the family, among other possibilities.
