Program Overview

ACAP’s Bachelor of Community Services prepares you to support community members from diverse backgrounds and respond to the complex social issues impacting their lives. Develop the knowledge and practical skills to work with individuals, families and communities across a range of services and settings.

Explore areas including case management, client centred support, group and community practice, and working with children, young people and families. You’ll also examine ethics and legal frameworks, lifespan development, and working collaboratively with First Nations peoples and communities.

As you progress through the course, you’ll have the opportunity to shape your studies around your interests. Choose a combination of elective units across Justice Services, Youth Work and Alcohol and Other Drugs, aligning your studies with your career goals.

Alongside building your knowledge in the classroom, you’ll put your skills into practice through 400 hours of fieldwork placement. This real-world experience in community and human services settings will prepare you for rewarding roles across youth and family services, disability and NDIS support, mental health, housing and homelessness, justice services, community development and more.
