Study marine science at Deakin where you will have access to spectacular marine environments teeming with rich biodiversity on your doorstep. Become an expert in ocean systems by exploring a broad range of disciplines, including marine biology and ecology, oceanography, marine mapping, conservation, aquaculture, fisheries, marine and coastal management. The Bachelor of Marine Science equips you with the skills needed to create a sustainable future for the world’s oceans.
You will learn from expert marine science teaching staff in labs and facilities equipped for exploring and understanding the biological, chemical and physical processes of life underwater. Our facilities are located at the doorstep of the Great Southern Reef where rocky shores, seagrass beds, mangroves and iconic surf beaches become your classroom.

Vice Chancellor's Meritorious Scholarship 2026
Turn your dream into a reality with a 100% scholarship. The Vice-Chancellor’s Meritorious 100% Scholarship Program 2026 is an initiative of Deakin University to reward students with meritorious academic background and excellent co-curricular achievements.
The 100% Scholarships are available for
- Indian citizens currently living in India with a valid Indian Passport during the application period.
- Offered for the entire duration of undergraduate or postgraduate programs.
- Geared towards individuals who aspire to contribute to their communities.
Academic eligibility criteria
- 85% overall in Year 12 scores of CBSE/ICSE/State Board; OR
- 10 overall in the General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE)/A Level; OR
- 32 overall in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP); OR
- 80% overall in an undergraduate degree.
This scholarship is conditional on acceptance of terms and conditions which will be specified in the acceptance form.
